VP of Product Services
Solace IT Solutions
Over the past few months, Solace IT Solutions, has had the privilege to collaborate with Microsoft on a new product offering, Microsoft 365 Business; a great product that will simplify the way businesses manage and secure devices.
WHAT IS MICROSOFT 365 BUSINESS AND IS THIS A NEW PRODUCT OR REBRANDED PRODUCT?
There are also new features that will assist in the efficiency. “Auto Pilot” is a feature designed to automatically configure the PC to your business needs by connecting to the internet and logging in with your email credentials. It will automatically install Office 2016 and setup policies for updates and antivirus. Unfortunately, third party apps are not supported at this time.Microsoft 365 Business is a new license offering that gives Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) a single license for each user. This license will include all services associated with Office 365 Business Premium, Windows 10 Business license, Windows 10 management, and Mobile Device management with DLP. While these products exist today, they are currently sold as separate subscriptions. Microsoft 365 Business combines these in an easy to manage dashboard, making subscription and device management seamless.
IS THIS A GOOD FIT FOR MY ORGANIZATION?
This product is designed for SMB and was developed to provide the most widely used/requested features. This product was NOT designed for tons of customization or one-off configurations. It is a glove that will fit about 90% of SMBs.
This offering is new and is continuing to evolve. Since our collaboration began, there has been tons of functionality added. And in my opinion, it is much more functional and beneficial than I originally thought. I spoke with many Microsoft Engineers at Inspire 2017 who are excited about this product and the new features that are on the way. I have enjoyed being part of this process and look forward to seeing Microsoft 365 Business become an integral part of SMBs, worldwide.
